Welcome to the website of Overseas China Education Foundation (OCEF, formerly SOS China Education Fund or SOSCEF).

OCEF was registered in Texas in April, 2001, its former name,SOSCEF was registered in California in 1992. Its mission is to raise fund to promote education in China, especially in helping less privileged children in rural areas of China for their basic education. In the last nine years, OCEF has helped over 3000 students to go to school.

The main features of our organization are as follows:

1) Headquartered in Houston, Texas, OCEF is a non-political, non-profit and independent organization operated by a group of volunteers in North America. Our sole purpose is to promote education in China.

2) All OCEF members are unpaid volunteers, who understand the importance of education to each individual and to the society, and who are willing to do their part to help less privileged children in China.

3) We are continuously striving for the best possible way to distribute your donations to the kids who need help. We set up the highest standards for all our volunteers. We treat your donations as carefully as our own money. We never compromise on the standards of fund distribution.

4) OCEFs operation expense is the lowest of its kind, and it comes entirely from special donations. In the past years, 100% of your donations were used to support needed kids in China. In the future, we intend to continue the policy, and will continue to ensure that your donations are 100% used for supporting students or for other educational projects in China. The operation cost will be entirely from special donations by donors or members of the Board of Trustees.
